The art historian Jana Sevcikova wrote of Duchan’s work, “Paintings of Josef Duchan open for us his conception of visual world which we can follow from his radical fragmentation to the smallest elements to their incorporation into the super complex unity.” This is a first presentation of Josef Duchan’s work in the USA. Josef Duchan graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. In his work he uses combined techniques including printmaking, drawing and painting.
